2014 had beautiful summer weather and some HUGE
pumpkins! Personal bests were obtained by Mark & Sharon Breznick 1710 lbs and a NEW Vermont State
Record, Dick & Ann Squires 1649 lbs and a new VGPGA Site Record, Laural & Todd Keys
1439 lbs, Dale Duffy 1140 lbs (earned a 1k jacket), Jonas Keim 772 lbs (first year junior grower and Howard Dill
award winner), Michael Gilchirst 582 lbs (first year grower), Bill Erskine 412 lbs and Mike & Sharon
Morrison 197 lbs (also first year growers).
Also Kevin Companion set a NEW Vermont State Record with a 129 lb field pumpkin and Dan &
Holly Boyce set a NEW Vermont State Record for Tomato at 4.8 lbs.

Annual On-Line Seed Auction,
held January 4 - 12th, 2014.
Once again our On-line seed auction was a great success! Thanks to all the growers who
donated seeds and all the bidders who participated. Many thanks to Steve Minor, Ann Squires, Randy Stromback,
Brent Towne, John Young and Terry Keim for setting up and working the auction. Special thanks to Ann for organizing
and sending out all the seeds.

Annual VGPGA weigh-off held at Sam Mazza's Farmstand in Colchester,
VT on Saturday September 27th, 2014.
Wow, wow, wow, what a day at the VGPGA weigh-off.
Beautiful summer weather and some HUGE pumpkins! The day was dedicated to the memory of Monique Brigante who recently
passed away after a battle with cancer.
A big congratulations to Dick and Ann Squires for taking
top prize and setting a NEW Vermont State Record, 1649 lbs! Almost doubling their previous personal best, great job.
Laural and Todd Keys took second place with "Hail"ey weighing in at 1439 lbs, also a personal best! Both these pumpkins
were growen from Laural's 1330.5 seed. Other personal bests were Dale Duffy 1140 lbs (earned a 1k jacket), Jonas Keim
772 lbs (first year junior grower and Howard Dill award winner), Michael Gilchirst 582 lbs (first year grower), Bill
Erskine 412 lbs, Mike and Sharon Morrison 197 lbs (also first year growers). Congrats to everyone who got a pumpkin
to the weigh-off, that is an achievement in itself.
We also had a lot of other vegetables weighed in, Kevin Companion set a NEW Vermont State Record
with a 129 lb field pumpkin and John and Kerry Young took top watermelon at 104 lbs and top long gourd with 122 3/8".
